Rugby Tryouts

Rugby Tryouts

Rugby is one of the most popular international sports in the world and has been steadily gaining popularity in the U.S. Rugby is a sport about intensity, determination, and drive. Rugby players are a special and rare breed of athlete who enjoy a fastpaced, strategic, challenging, and exciting team sport. Rugby provides the athlete with both physical and mental challenges. Rugby also helps athletes improve their fitness and overall health. And anyone can play!

Stand Out from the Crowd!
There is a mystique that comes with playing Rugby in this country. People hear that you play football, baseball, or basketball and they give you a polite “that’s nice.” But mention that you play Rugby and people will pause, take another look at you, and say “Ooh, I hear that’s tough!” Immediately they look at you in a different light. They know enough about the game to understand that it takes a special kind of person to play.

Be Part of the Elite! The bond that forms between not only teammates, but Rugby
players in general, is one that can’t be compared to anything else.

SO GET IN SHAPE…HAVE FUN…
IMPRESS YOUR FRIENDS…TAKE THE CHALLENGE!

JOIN RUGBY!

Woodlands Kicker at Football Showcase

This wasn’t just for kicks

Meya Bizer, a senior place kicker from The Woodlands, has an unorthodox delivery. Thomas B. Shea For the Chronicle

Woodlands kicker is only girl among 500 at football showcase

Hunched down in preparation for her 40-yard-dash attempt, Meya Bizer tried to block the distractions. She knew all eyes were locked on her the moment she lined up to race David Gamez — a hulking lineman nearly twice her size.

The attention was inevitable, considering Bizer was the only female participant at the third annual Greater Houston Senior Football Showcase, a program for overlooked senior football prospects to showcase their skills in front of college recruiters. Read the story on Chron.com

But once the whistle blew, gender disparity went out the window. And Bizer launched from her stance and whizzed past Gamez.
