About

Woodlands Youth Rugby Club is a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization.

Woodlands Rugby is a multi-school club sport and competes in the Texas Youth Rugby Association playing both TYRA (Multi school clubs) and Texas High School Rugby Conference THSRC (Single School Teams). Players for Woodlands Rugby have the chance to shine and achieve by being selected to try out and compete for Houston Area, State and National teams. Our Director of Rugby and head coach Phil Beck has long been involved with Rugby playing professionally for the London Wasps and currently serving various positions within the the U.S.A Rugby National Select Rugby structure; coaching both high school and collegiate level elite teams.

2011 Season Accomplishments

  • 1 Runner up in State (U-19)
  • Best Back in Texas (U-19) – Reid Romero
  • Three All State Backs (U-19) – Reid Romero, Paul Nieuwoudt, Ryan Pierantozzi
  • Four All State Forwards(U-19) – Ryan Rackley, Jordan Allan, Travis Smith, John Masterson
  • 1st Runner up in the West (U-19)
  • Sent 17 players to represent Texas at Rocky Mountain Challenge in Colorado
  • Nationally ranked as high as 6th during the season
  • One USA Eagle (Girls U-20) – Meya Bizer
