Boys High School Win State Championship, Ladies High School State Runner-up, All Youth Teams Win A&M Tourney Divisions

The weekend of April 27-28, 2019 will long be remembered as the most successful in the history of the Woodlands Youth Rugby Club.  The weekend began on Saturday with teams from our younger divisions (K-2, 3-4th grade, 5-6th grade and Junior High) travelling to College Station to compete in the Gareth Jones Youth Rugby Tournament.  In what has come to be a state championship of sorts for the youth teams the Gareth Jones Tournament has been the last of the rugby season before the summer break.  All Woodlands Rugby teams entered in this years' tournament won their respective divisions.  It was a clean sweep from Kindergarten through the 8th grade.  Every champion was wearing the proud green and black of Woodlands Youth Rugby.  Kids, coaches, parents and supporters were fine representatives of the club and their performance spoke for itself.

That same Saturday the High School Boys and Girls sides were competing in Austin for the State Championship.  Both sides were successful in their semifinal appearances and earned spots in the championship matches on Sunday.  The girls side lost a hotly contested match to earn State Championship Runner-up honors.  The Boys High School side emerged victorious earning their third Texas State Championship.

The Woodlands Youth Rugby Club would like to thank all of the sponsors who have generously helped to make the 2019 season a great success.  Additionally we would like to thank the coaches, parents and volunteers who make this club successful through their dedication.
