THE WOODLANDS – Three students signed their National Letters of Intent at College Park High School on Wednesday morning as a part of National Signing Day.
In front of family and friends, Evan Conlon, Brad Pease and Ardyn Wilson all accomplished their goal of playing at the next level with the stroke of a pen.........
Rugby isn't a mainstream sport, which means there aren't as many scholarships available. Still, Evan Conlon was able to secure one to Lindenwood University in Missouri.
"At first, I thought it was crazy that I could get [a scholarship]," Conlon said. "You don't see it very often – there's not a lot of schools that offer that. I was just really excited."
Conlon played rugby with The Woodlands Youth Rugby Club for six years. He won a varsity state championship in 2017 and a junior varsity title in 2016.
The College Park senior is leaning toward a major in sports medicine and is eager to compete at the collegiate level.
"I'm most excited to play rugby, honestly," Conlon said. "It's going to be a great opportunity for me, and I'm really excited."
